All about Theatre Fanatico
Theatre Fanatico is a non-profit making independent theatre company founded in 1996 by Hoyingfung, who has also been the Company's artistic director till now. The Company works consist of 4 streams of creative endeavor: Fanatico Drama Series, Fanatico Young Professional Series, Fanatico Impromptu Series and Drumming Voices Youth Creative Workshop Series. In 2008, the Company is about to open one more stream: Fanatico Partnership Scheme, a plan to invite independent artists and independent performing art body to work together on an experiemental platform.
Fanatico Drama Series:
This is the main body of creative works maintained by The Company throughout the years. All works concern with the changing socio-political phenomena in Hong Kong. Most of them were original works created by Hoyingfung (with the exception of two) along side with guests artists, including renowned composers like Law Wing Fai, John Chen and Roger Lin, lighting designer Leo Cheung, and production manager Frank Yeung, stage performers like Ng Wai-shek, Olivia Yan, Antoinette Mak, Popo Tso, Priscilla Leung, Chan Ming-long, Yeung Sze-mun, Melissa Leung, E-run, Hoi Chiu, Yuen Jie, William Chan and Shaw Mei-kwan, etc., film artists like Elaine Jin, Jossie Ho, Li Chan-sum.

"Dreaming Plum Blossom Away" (an original opera inspired by Milan Kundera's "Immortality" and the Cantonese Opera Classic "The Reincarnation of Plum Blossom" by Tong De-sung)
"Heading West" (a music theatre inspired by the Chinese Classical Novel "Journey to the West")
"The Seventh Drawer" (a portraiture of a Chinese family saga of the 20th Century)
"Springtime at Wuhu Street"(a semi-docu-drama based on true stories told by performers)
"Exposed/Still Burning" (a dramatic poem commissioned by 2006 New Vision Arts Festival)
"The Crossing/Painting Silence" (a dream play exploring the absurdity behind imprisonment of dissidents)
Young Professional Series:
This is a series aiming to provide alternative professional training for young artists who were aspired to be professional theatre artists. The focus would include playwrighting, directing, designing, performing and stage management.

Fanatico Impromptu Series:
This is a series collaborated with Dr. Ho Kwok Leung, an associate professor on social science. It set out to produce improvisational work in responding to contemporary social issues. Based on different corresponding issues, guest artists, scholars, journalists, photographers and citizens from all sectors would be invited to perform and express their opinion through impromptu, with situation each time set up by Hoyingfung an hour prior to the performance. All performances were working on a zero production budget. intended to be open and free for all. So far the Company has been fortunate to gain the support from the Hong Kong Arts Centre for all the performances created for this series.

Drumming Voices Youth Creative Workshop:
This is a series mainly designed for young people to develop their sense of self action through interplays with theatre and arts. It isn't meant to train young artists, but rather use art as a tool for progressive social work for the young and needed. So far, it has gained fairly wide support both from the government sectors and social organizations, including Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong, the International Arts Carnival, the Boys' and Girls' Club Association of Hong Kong, the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Integrated Service Centres for Young People, The Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong, etc.
